Congratulations Sompeas on graduating from The University of Arizona!!!! Sompeas is graduating with her Juris Doctor Degree in Law after studying in the United States for the past 2 years. Congratulations Sompeas, we are all so proud of you. Below is an email from Sompeas, reflecting on her graduation.
First of all, I would like to thank Steve and Liz for making me feel special on this significant occasion.
Second, I would like to show my gratitude to all directors for your tremendous support. Your support goes beyond words of gratitude. I am honored to have had the opportunity to pursue this dream, which I would have never thought was possible in my entire life. My dream of serving in a legal profession is no longer a dream. I am proud of myself, and I am grateful to everyone who has shown me support, financially, physically, and emotionally. It has been a tough and challenging journey for me, but I know that everyone believes in me so I should never give up on myself. I hope my story serves as an inspiration to my other fellow friends in Cambodia to also never give up on their dream.
As I embark on this journey, I have learned that the value of life is how I shall put back and serve my community. Learning is an exciting life-long journey of discovery, full of wonder and awe-inspiring so I will continue to learn and educate myself. I want to be a helpful resource to my community, especially those vulnerable populations, such as the impoverished and the uneducated. I will uphold my profession and serve them regardless if they have the mean to pay.
Once again, I am beyond grateful to everyone who has believed in me. I would not have made it through this challenging experience without your words of advice, encouragement, help, and support.
