Single-use plastics are devastating Cambodia’s environment. With no formal recycling program, single-use plastic bags and bottles are often discarded on the ground, polluting the surrounding environment and waterways.

The way to solve this issue sustainably is through:

EDUCATION

A curriculum of 8 lesson, taught over 4 months reaching 15,000 rural high school students in 2020, and another 25,000 rural students in 2021, to become single-use plastic-free with ‘refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle’ message.

INSPIRATION

  • Appoint Environment Ambassadors in every school we teach to reinforce plastic education and inspire ongoing action.

  • Bring environmental education to families and villagers through the students we teach.

  • Award plastic-free villages with Official Certificate of Recognition from the Ministry of Environment and Provincial Government.

Project R has been approved by the government.

We have formal support and cooperation from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and Ministry of Environment.
